Shavout- Feast of Weeks
June 8 @ 6:00 pm
Join us Saturday, June 8 at 6:00 p.m. for a very special Shavuot Seder.
This family-friendly event will encourage you to experience the tastes, songs and teachings of this holiday at Temple Beth David. The main meal will be dairy, because The Song of Songs states that “the knowledge of Torah is like milk and honey under the tongue” (4:11), so it is customary to eat dairy foods on Shavuot.
We have created a Shavuot Haggadah modeled on the Passover Haggadah.
Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) marks the time that the Jews were given the Torah on Mount Sinai and occurs on the 50th day after the 49 days of counting the Omer. The Counting of the Omer represents the journey from Egypt to Mt. Sinai.RSVP by Sunday, June 2, to: Ritual@templebethdavid.com
Event FREE and ALL WELCOME!
